I don’t think I’m alone when I say that my wardrobe consists of a TON of black. I’m talking about more than half of the clothes I wear! For me, it’s the contrast between by fair complexion/blonde hair and a black ensemble that I appreciate. The problem I sometimes find is that, when you live in a city like New Orleans where you can fry an egg on the street in the summertime, it’s hard to find clothing that is black and is transitional between the seasons.
Enter the crop top and maxi skirt… Crop tops still continue to be a super-trend, and if you’re someone like me who doesn’t always feel the most confident baring your midriff, pairing it with a high-waisted maxi skirt is a great option. Although the maxi skirt is long, it allows breeze during a scolding hot day that makes wearing black totally doable. I added some personality with my accessories (one of many Goorin Bros. hats I own) and my boots… If you’re a girl growing up in the South you were basically raised in cowboy boots. I’m not much of a country fan, so these boots by Sartore are the closest thing I’ll get to a cowboy boot!
