With 4 spots down already, I figured it’s time we take the journey of my Top 10 Favorite Places in New Orleans outside, starting with Crescent Park. Nearly 3 years ago, the French Market District developed this urban linear park as a means to connect the community and visitors to the riverfront.
Strangely enough, I’ve been asked a few times what my ideal day in New Orleans would be. It always starts off with lunch at Pizza Delicious, walking next door to Euclid Records, making my way down to Bacchanal for a few glasses of wine, then ending up at Crescent Park to watch the sunset. I first became aware of this park while visiting Euclid Records one day. If you’ve been to the Bywater lately, you’ve probably noticed a steep red archway that serves as the bridge to Crescent Park. After fighting the uphill battle crossing the bridge (or at least I was panting), visitors are rewarded with one of the most breathtaking views of the New Orleans skyline. The 1.4 mile park also features native landscaping, bike paths, a dog run and multi-use pavilions for visitors.
This look was shot at one of the pavilions located in Crescent Park, which extends out onto the water and is probably the most frequented as it provides the best views of the city. I’ve always said that this pavilion would be an AMAZING venue for a live concert… can anybody make that happen?! Being out on the water in January, I opted for a plaid wool blazer I recently ordered off of Zara (similar HERE). I’ve always been a fan of the red-white-black color scheme, which fit perfectly with the backdrop of the park. Also, with the growing popularity of high-rise denim does anyone else find it hard to wear anything but?! I have a long torso, so it’s usually difficult for me to find high-waisted denim that hits at my true waist… until I discovered the “high line” by L’Agence! I’m normally not a huge fan of distressed denim, but these were just enough to add a little edge. If you scroll down below I’ve linked these jeans plus similar items to my look!
