TAKE FROM ME MY LACE

Every time I think of leather and lace, I can’t help but reference the ballad by Stevie Nicks and Don Henley. ”Give to me your leather, take from me my lace…” the duo repeats to one another – a metaphor that serves as the backbone behind one of the greatest love songs of all time.

What is it about these two fabrics that makes for such a dynamic pairing? As Nicks describes, her love is like lace – soft and delicate with a feminine touch. Henley on the other hand, compares his love to leather – tough and masculine. One element fills the void of what the other element lacks, making the two stronger together rather than alone.

I realize I probably went a little to deep with this, but 1. I love Stevie Nicks and 2. I’ve mentioned time and time again my love for juxtaposition when it comes to fashion. In a previous blog post, I explain this further. Mixing masculine and ultra-feminine energies when putting an outfit together is something that has always excited me!

Since it’s apparent that leather and lace will stand the test of time as one of the greatest love stories, scroll down below to see how you can incorporate this duo in your wardrobe!
