The next stop on our journey of my 10 favorite places in NOLA takes us to The Pontchartrain Hotel. Most locals may not realize that the hotel was originally built in the 1920’s, and started as a luxury apartment building. Flash forward to 2016, the establishment underwent a major renovation that successfully put The Pontchartrain Hotel back on the map!
In addition to the hotel and luxury suites, guests can visit Hot Tin which is a rooftop bar that overlooks the New Orleans skyline. Ever since the the bar’s debut, you can expect a minor wait on the weekends before heading up to the top floor for a cocktail. In addition to Hot Tin, The Pontchartrain includes three dining and entertainment emporiums. One of which, and probably the most popular on Instagram, is the Caribbean Room. Aesthetically this is one of my FAVORITE places in this city! The decor is a combination of 70s meets eclectic meets Parisienne vibes.
Each time I visit this place, I immediately feel like I’m in a movie where a secret mob meeting may be going down… hence my outfit choice. I found this two-piece set from Urban Outfitters a few months back (sadly it’s sold out now :/). I’ve been really into pajama sets lately, or just really oversized matching sets. Not only are they super comfortable like you just rolled out of bed, but they’re great for being worn separately. I had been wanting a black silk duster, so when I discovered that this one had matching pants I thought I had died and went to heaven! With this mobster look hitting all the masculine vibes, I knew I had to add a feminine touch somehow. I fell super hard for these lash studs by Porter Lyons. I’m always looking for cool studs to wear since I have a double piercing, and Porter Lyons has SO many options. It also helps that these in particular are made of 14K solid gold and black diamonds!
I know this getup I’m wearing is sold out 🙁 but I managed to find a ton of similar pieces in the same price range if you scroll below!
