Often times I find myself asking the question, “When is sheer too sheer?” or “Do I HAVE to wear a bra?!” If you find yourself asking these questions too, you know that it’s a fine line to walk…
Personally, I’m a fan of incorporating some sort of shock value to an ensemble. Sheer fabrics, cutouts and micro-garments are all totally acceptable in my book. The key to looking “tastefully trashy” is all about balance. What I mean by this is picking one area of your body to highlight while muting the rest. If you’re wanting to go sheer, try a mesh bodysuit with a detailed bra underneath. I chose to pair this with a high-waisted jean and oversized blazer to leave some to the imagination. In a previous post, I utilized this same strategy by pairing a sheer metallic skirt with an oversized sweater.
At the end of the day, all that really matters is what you’re comfortable. If you’re like my sister who has rock-hard abs and confidence out the roof, embrace it and wear that bralet with denim cutoffs! Just stay conscious of your surroundings and know there’s a time and place when appropriate. We don’t want to ruin someone’s day with our goodies all hanging out! So stay “tastefully trashy” my friends 🙂
